Mark your calendars! On September 18, 2009 Baliwag.net together with Brotherhood of Destiny (BROOD) in partnership with the Philippine Internet Users Society (PIUS), SM City Baliwag and Informatics-Malolos WILL CELEBRATE ONEWEBDAY! The OneWebDay Cyberzone event will be at SM City Baliwag Events Center. Plus there will be FREE WI-FI ACCESS, FREE INFOTECH TRAINING ON BLOGGING TO EARN, ADOBE PHOTOSHOP, and ESSAY WRITING CONTESTS (High School and College) and more. Baliwag.Net is the first Sustainable ICT Project dubbed as an Online Community Portal. It is a project of Brotherhood of Destiny (BROOD). "We are lucky to have consistent partners like SM City Baliwag and Informartics Malolos who both believes in the freedom of information through community portals and the cause of OneWebDay being advocated by PIUS," says David D'Angelo, National Secretary General of BROOD. Baliwag.net will be offering FREE WI-FI to all visitors during the day from 10:00am to 9:00pm courtesy of PLDT MyDSL. All you have to do is register as a member of Baliwag.net and the Philippine Internet Users Society (PIUS). Then you will get FREE 1 HOUR INTERNET ACCESS via the 10 desktop computers provided by Informatics-Malolos or get your password to access the wi-fi at the area for unlimited hours. There will also be an ESSAY WRITING CONTEST which is open to all high school and college schools in Baliwag. The event is looking for 365 essays which will all be published at the official website of PIUS for OneWebDay. Each essay will be published one day after the other until the next OneWebDay and the PIUS Summit on 2010. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TRAINING will also be given and among the planned topics are: BLOGGING TO EARN - how can you earn from home using your skills in writing about the things you love to write and how to demistify the secret of Google and Search Engines; and BASIC PHOTOSHOP AND ART ON COMPUTER - Informatics will offer a free basic session on photoshop during the day. It will be at most a 2-hour basic session. "We hope that through this, BROOD and PIUS will not only partner for the OneWebDay event but also join hands together with Filcode.com for the creation of other sustainable community website portals throughout the Philippines," says D'Angelo.
